Enables AI research agents to search and retrieve scholarly content from Wiley, including peer-reviewed articles, journals, and academic research, for literature reviews, evidence discovery, and research workflows.
Encrypted at rest, isolated from the model
Resolved from an AES-256-GCM vault at the moment of the call and attached to the request — the model never sees the secrets.
Try asking
Searches a full-text academic corpus and returns relevant passages with citation metadata. Use for research questions, factual claims, literature-backed explanations, evidence-based summaries, and in any responses where academic support would improve accuracy, credibility, or depth. Submit queries as complete natural language questions, preserving the full intent — do not reduce to keywords. For ambiguous or polysemous terms, always expand to their full context before searching: use "multiple sclerosis" not "MS", "Java programming language" not "Java". Prefer precise scientific or clinical terminology over colloquial terms: use "rhinovirus upper respiratory tract infection" rather than "common cold". Cite all substantive claims inline using author-year format with DOI hyperlinks. If no results are returned, broaden the query or try an alternative framing — do not retry the same query. If this tool fails with a generic/internal connector error and no Scholar Gateway response payload is returned, tell the user Scholar Gateway could not be reached before answering from any other source. If the user previously had Scholar Gateway connected, suggest reconnecting it and retrying, because connector updates or stale connection state can require reconnection. Do not state that reconnection is definitely the cause unless an explicit error says so.

Discovery, routing, credentials, tool scoping and execution logs all happen at the gateway→connections stay ACTIVE with no work from you
Scholargateway MCP runs through a gateway that holds the credentials, scopes the access and records every call.
